Wellness Diaries 4

 Episode 4

I tried a home workout.

I was in my “fitness begins at home” era. No excuses. No gym? No problem. I rolled out my mat, lit a candle for aesthetics, and opened YouTube. The instructor said it would be low-impact and beginner-friendly. She lied.

Ten minutes in, my thighs were shaking, my arms were struggling to keep up, and the only thing getting toned was my patience.

Then came the plank.

I lowered myself slowly, trying to channel strength and stability. That’s when my mat betrayed me. It slipped. I slipped.

The instructor, still smiling said,

“Almost there! Keep pushing!”

Just when I thought I’d catch my breath, my stomach growled, loudly. Even my digestive system was rebelling.

I lay there for another seven minutes, face-down, letting the mat absorb my disappointment. Then I rolled over, turned off the video, and told myself wellness could wait till tomorrow. Again.
